Naxalism has been spreading in every nook and corner of the country and has become more dangerous than foreign-based terrorism. Challenge to law and order by Maoists and Naxalite groups have been growing dangerous day by day. Rich businessmen and middle class or high-class service men including policemen are being subjected to extortion of money. Common men and especially daily earners have to bear the pain of Naxal bund, Naxal attacks and Naxals strikes time and again. Naxalism has grown manifolds during last ten years but unfortunately government has not yet understood the gravity of the matter. Still many stalwarts, many media people and many politicians talk of dialogue with Maoists and naxals. On the other hand, frequent attacks on police forces has been leading slowly to demoralization of police forces and killing or at least diluting their enthusiasm to battle against naxals or terrorist because of political indifferent, casual and non-supportive attitude.
Debate after debates takes place on TV channels but no concrete policy whatsoever it may be has been framed either by state government or central government or both together. Unfortunately politicians are still not united on such a serious issue. There are many sympathizers of Maoists both in and outside the government. State government and Central government are not having a well-decided strategy to handle the threat of naxals and Maoist. Social reformers are divided whether there should be action against naxals or not.Naxals on the other hand take advantage of this division in politics and enrich their financial as also fighting power.
There is no doubt that in a big country like India or any where in the world, difference of opinion on any issue of national concern or mass concern is possible. Even if there is aggression from abroad there will be different strategies suggested by different experts. There are many such persons whose work is to criticize all actions of the government. If no action is taken people will blame and if action is taken they will judge the merits and demerits from various angles. If police force kills naxals or terrorists, politicians will blame of fake encounter to dilute the fighting intensity of police force and also to earn political advantage and gain sympathy from innocent and illiterate voters.
If during encounters or fight against naxals or terrorists, any common man is killed, activists of human right organizations will come forward to criticize action of police force. Unfortunately when naxals or terrorists cause death of common men, none from human right organization will come forward.
However such cases of support or protest over any important issue are unavoidable in a democratic setup where every citizen or a group has huge fundamental rights to enjoy without any sense of inherent duties towards the society.
As such government cannot blame anyone for growing naxals and increasing threat from naxal activists. During eighties Sikh militants known as Khalistan activists had created biggest law and order problem in the state of Punjab. Late Indira Gandhi the then Prime Minister of India did not hesitate to take army led action against Sikh militants to ensure peace in Punjab state and to stop spread of Khalistan movement which was clearly a threat to unity of the country. Armed forces were allowed to enter into even the most pious and religious place like Golden Temple in Amritser. It was her sincere and devoted action against Punjab extremists that during last 25 years India has not faced any trouble from Sikh militants.
Indians should salute leader like Indira Gandhi who did not waste time in debate on
Whether action is needed or not,
Whether it is duty of state government of central government,
Whether opposition party is responsible or
Whether there is fake encounter or
whether there is possibility of people‘s revolt or
Whether it will harm relations with Sikh people
Or congress party will loose Sikh votes in general election and so on…….
She did the best as per her best knowledge and as per the opinion of important political leaders of her party and that of other opposition parties. She assessed and ascertained the opinion of people at large and decided for action and strategy to fight out Sikh militancy from the root without any fear of repercussion and she got the grand success in her task. Some insane person or group killed her just as Mahatma Gandhi was killed even though Gandiji fought for freedom and won freedom from British rulers.
It hardly matters for leaders of national stature whether he is alive or is killed by his opponents if the action taken by him is in national interest. People of India are still indebted to Late Indira Gandhi for many good works she did during her tenure as Prime Minister of India. She may be criticized on many other issues but her quality to take effective, timely and fruitful action and to take decisions at appropriate time cannot be criticized by any unbiased person.
It is pity that current ruling government at center led by Congress Party is making one after other lame excuses for its complete failure in tackling the problem of naxalism. Prime Minister like Manmohan Singh has not yet decided the concrete and time bound action plan in consultation with state government to fight and finish naxalites and Maoists from the root. There may be many reasons and much emotional logics in the minds of his party men or that in sympathizers of Maoists. But from any angle of consideration, act of breaching laws of the land or criminals (of any type, Maoist or naxalites or general) taking laws in their hands cannot be justified. Action and action with punishment have to be taken against all who are perpetuators of criminal activities and also against who are advocates and sympathizers of criminals.
It is also true that it is the duty of sensible government to understand and realize the problems of common men, loopholes of laws and condemnable actions of beaurocracy. Government should on day to day basis monitor the actions of responsible authorities and punish bad officers and bad police personnel whose torturous actions continuously cause trouble to common men. It is the duty of the government to remove all those reasons, which may force poor and innocent person to become criminal or to plead for criminals or to seek support from criminals to survive in society or form a gang of criminals to get rid of atrocities from local police forces.
It is very much disheartening to know that thousands and lacs of innocent persons are held in jail for years together only due to the fact that courts are unable to deliver justice in decades and decades. One can imagine the pain of a family whose member is put in jail for none of his or her fault and his voice in defense is not heard for decades. Pain of such victims of the system is aggravated when he or she becomes helpless due to inefficient and dishonest judicial system. It should not be surprising when hundreds of such victims of the system unite together to take barbaric revenge from the system even breaching the laws of the land.
It is common experience of common men that government of India understands the language of violence and violence only. Normal strike or normal protest is taken lightly by ruling elite. This is the painful story of Indian politics. If any individual or group put any demand verbally before representative of government in any office or department and follow the same for years together verbally and in writing, no fruitful result is expected to yield. As long as working class or business class does not adopt violent agitation against the government, representatives of the government notice none of their demands.
In conclusion government has to fight not only fight with Maoists and terrorists but also boldly eliminate extremists, inefficient, inert and corrupt persons sitting in police departments, offices and departments run by government and courts in particular and in politics in general whose actions annoy common men for no reason. Extremism of any kind is to be condemned. Which type of extremism, government led or Maoist led came first is not to be debated. Main focus should be on the person who commit crime and to ensure quickest punishment to such criminals without any discrimination based on caste, community, religion, region or the party who is ruling and who is not ruling.

Terrorism
India is a vast country and Indian security forces or police cannot provide security to all people in each corner of the country. This is a bitter truth, which every Indian must admit. We are fortunate enough that terrorists are active and conducting terror attacks in metros and big towns only. If they start targetting small towns, cities and village for target attack, I apprehend India’s security arrangement will get punctured and prove to be hollow, absolutely incompetent and inadequate to deal with highly equipped, trained and funded terrorists.
I feel however proud that person like Mr. P Chidambaram has been in charge of Home Ministry and he has left no stone unturned to have best control and best use of available police and armed forces, to monitor and coordinate various intelligence agencies and to have best possible liasoning with most of the concerned department to achieve best possible result in available resources, at least far better than his immediate predecessor Mr. Shiv Raj Patil. It is his sincere efforts that during last 400 days no terror attack took place and many probable attacks were thwarted and culprits were booked in jail.
In the present case of Pune blast also, home ministry had alerted all well in advance about probable terror attack. Police forces as also people of these towns were cautioned to be alert of terrorists and unidentified bags. But home ministry or the police forces cannot follow those terrorists 24 hours 365 days. . Terrorists on the other hand are behind their target 24 hours and 365 days. This mismatch gives terrorist an opportunity to befool public as well as police. If people of India, politicians and media all cooperate, I hope India will be safer. Government needs to send a clear signal to criminals that there will be no sympathy for those who commit crime and violate laws of the Nation, irrespective of their caste or community and needs to ensure quickest punishment to crime perpetuators, even if it needs to jail Thakre like person or Indian Muzahiddin (IM) needs to be banned and its members need to be booked to task.
We therefore need a fool proof system which can take care of common men at all places every minute, every time. Police forces and the ruling party succeeded in release of MNIK in Mumbai and in the state of Maharashtra only because it was a few days phenomenon and one time event. Police forces were sent in civil dresses in all cinema halls to control the situation successfully. Similarly Indian government has to ensure that fifty percent of police forces are posted in civil dresses and made active in all corners of the country to guard common men to watch on the malicious activities of terror groups or naxal groups. This is possible only when entire political system and administrative machinery is redefined, reactivated, revitalized and rejuvenated. And the most important is that politicians are kept completely away from police forces. This is possible only when politicians discard vote bank politics and give value to security of Indians on priority.
However this is also true that police force in our country do not work sincerely and honestly at all the places and in all the states in the country. Reason behind inactiveness of police force is also nothing but wrong policies and wrong treatment of police force in the hands of politicians. When they act some party or the other abuses them, when they do not act they are abused by some politician or the other. It is therefore easy and comfortable for police personnel to do what politicians or ministers in person like them to do. It means police forces in general think it wise, prudent and better to flatter VIP and powerful person to get cream posting, easy promotions in career and get rid of all charges leveled against them by common men. We need to change this culture prevailing in almost all government offices, banks and insurance companies.
Unfortunately in our country those who act honestly and sincerely are more often than not shunted out and placed at such a critical place that honestly becomes a curse for its followers instead of an award. Even distributing of various medals or awards for successful completion of any task or any courageous action in police forces are based on either flattery to bosses or recommendations of some higher authority or some political heavyweights. Prestigious award like Padma Bhusan, Padam Shree, or Padam Bibhusan are awarded to controversial figures. This is very much painful.
Indians know how sincere IPS officer like various governments in her career treated Kiran Bedi when she was in job. People know how person like DGP Mr.Rathore got one after other promotions and better posting even after his involvement in Ruchika’s case. In the past few days IAS officers have been found to be indulged in large scale corruption and property worth many crores of rupees have been caught by IT authorities. Morality of top officers has faced dangerous erosion in the hand of politicians of the country.
Obviously entire set of administration has become victim of corruption and selfish policies of politicians. It is ironical that politicians who are originator of all corruption always blame administration for rampant corruption. This mutual blame game continues and common men become victim in all the cases of security lapses and it is painful that in this mutual mud slinging process, criminals get rid of charges, or court proceedings are delayed and ultimately criminals get rid of punishment for their crime. As a consequence crime graph in our country is rising unabated.
To add fuel to fire, criminals are getting support of various political parties to enter in to Parliament and take part in debate and stop legislative or executive action against criminals. It is undeniably true for Indian political system that politicians and criminal are two sides of the same coin and police forces are instrumental to them, subsidiary to them and nothing but extended arm of our bad political and administrative system .We therefore need thorough change in the system from top to bottom level.
It is also regrettable that even media instead of focusing main problem, concentrating on terror attack and searching its possible remedy start searching loopholes in the speeches of ministers, police authorities and change the agenda of the country from security mechanism to dirty political game. Media portrays the picture of terror attack in a way, which is not conducive for proper and appropriate investigation of the terror attack. Even intelligence inputs are broadcasted and elaborately enlightened on TV in such a way which help more to terrorists in changing their target and strategy, rather than helping police and people of the country to effectively trap the terrorists before they act upon their conspiracy to destabilize the country. Enemy foreign countries take advantage of our weak points and always succeed in execution of their dirty, destructive and divisive plans to weaken India. Undoubtedly media needs to be made accountable and responsible towards sensitive issues like terror linked in formations and post terror attack investigation procedures.

Pakistan's drama on IPL
How would India have reacted if Indians players were given the same treatment in Pakistan? Many similar questions arise in the mind of Indians and one must ponder over it to find out the true reason. I however like to submit as under:
There is no question of any reaction. There are many goods which are favoured by one country but rejected by others. Buyers have the liberty to choose commodity of their own choice. Seller (players are selling their game) have got no choice and the country has got no role to play where the deal is between buyer and seller.
So far as rejection of Pakistani players is concerned, it is to be kept in mind that even players from Australia, Zimbabwe or some other countries have also not been bought by IPL participants. Pakistan is for no reason unhappy and irritated and showing unwarranted anger and crying for retort like street mongers. Still singer and musician, hockey players and other skilled persons from Pakistan are coming in India from time to time and they are extended warm welcome in India when they earn good image,.
Unfortunately image of Pakistani players has suffered great erosion all over the world during last decade and more. Any businessman does not want disturbance in his business. Bad employees are kept away from valuable discussion and policy framing policy in all fields of life and business including IPL. Even in family bad guys are isolated and kept away from important discussions. Choosing the best employees, best workers, best plaers, best singers for doing any type of business is nothing new but a natural phenomenon in all business activities.
Cricket play IPL is not a national activity. There is negligible role of the government in such ventures In fact Pakistan is trying to divert the attention of Pakistani citizens from the assault of Talibani militants and trying to hide its faulty policies of supporting terrorism. Pakistan is trying to bring back Kashmir in focus and keep animosity with India alive by hook or by crook. “Khisyayi Billi Khamba Noche.”
This is the reason that Pakistan is threatening of stopping Hockey matches, Indian films or threatening to teach a lesson to India .It is sad that Pakistan executes its threat spontaneously whereas India sends paper bullet threatening or dream of dialogue process or removing armed forces from Kashmir border.
